Today I unfortunately could not eat breakfast but I started it off right for lunch. Unveiling our new hexclad (#nonsponsored) wok, I decided to something Asian inspired with a stir frying aspect as thats what the wok is known for. Earlier I had thawed the chicken breast and the reason I chose this protein is because it is arguably the best choice for lean protein other than straight egg whites as almost every calorie is contributing your daily protein intake. While this is the case make sure that if your diet requires more fat to opt for a higher cal option such as chicken thigh or even red meats. It is also important to realize that with chicken breast in order to achieve the truly low cal form it needs to be skinless as chicken skin contains high amounts of fats. Anyhow I stir fried this chicken chopped into bitesized pieces with a cubed onion and a whole knob of garlic (I love garlic. You can opt out of this amount). I added my flavorings and voila a meal or two. The details are listed below.
Stir fried chicken
- 20.4 oz of boneless skinless chicken breast
- 1 medium red onion roughly chopped
- 1 knob of garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons normal soy sauce
- season with salt, white pepper, and pepper flakes to taste
Meant for two meals and served with a cup of cooked white rice.
This is what I ended up eating today. Since the micronutrients were lacking I supplemented with some home grown fruit and greens powder as well as supplementing the protein with a shake of iso100 peanut butter and chocolate. Overall I felt in control and satisfied which is great when losing weight. Try some variation of this simple set up some time for yourself. Weigh out your choice of protein to your macro needs and add some vegetables; then simply season and enjoy with rice or noodles. These simple recipes are nothing to write home about but they do help you regain your control of your diet and truly understand why you are eating.
After eating dinner I did my boxing workout which you can check out on my youtube as well as did a session with one of my friends where I trained them in the basics of boxing. After those two cardio intensive tasks I went to gym and hit back and biceps which you can find in the "Boxing workouts" section on this very website.
Overall 7/10 day and 9/10 health wise. I made sure to get my water intake in and enjoyed my day. Happy Fighting!
